Learning from Home – Supporting Students with Disabilities will enable you to confidently target your teaching practices to the learning needs of students with disabilities.
The video series will explore how to differentiate and deliver quality remote learning to students with mild to moderate disabilities. The various disability subtypes include:
- intellectual disability
- physical impairment
- deaf or hard of hearing (DHH)
- vision impairment
- autism.
There is also an introductory video that outlines Department resources available to support students with disability more broadly.
The video series is designed by the Inclusive Education Division and presented by school leaders and teachers with expertise in learning and disability.
Each 10- to 20-minute video will deep dive into a specific disability within the context of remote teaching and learning.
You will hear advice from expert practitioners from Victorian specialist schools experienced in working with students with disability in this remote learning environment. They will provide pedagogical and practical strategies to support learning from home.
The videos have been designed to be standalone and can be viewed according to your specific needs and experiences across the various disability subtypes.
