Foundations for Literacy for deaf and hard of hearing children

Foundations for Literacy for deaf and hard of hearing children

Description

Foundations for Literacy (FFL) is an evidence-based early literacy intervention designed specifically for preschool and kindergarten-aged children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Adapted for the Australian context, this two-day training workshop provides educators with practical, multi-sensory strategies to support vocabulary, phonological awareness, narrative skills, alphabetic knowledge, and early reading development. Participants will explore sound-based and visual-based literacy approaches, differentiated instruction, and dialogic reading strategies to support language and literacy success for DHH learners.
