Description
This facilitator-led blended learning course has been co-designed by the Department of Education and The University of Melbourne to develop understanding and capabilities in:
- recognising the defining characteristics, needs and challenges of ADHD to support academic and social inclusion.
- neurodiversity-affirming practices that support the strengths and challenges common to students with ADHD traits.
- common screening tools and checklists used to help identify and support students with ADHD traits
- planning, implementing and evaluating a range of Tier 1 (universal) supports and interventions that support differences common in students with ADHD traits.
- the components of a comprehensive support system that uses the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework and aligns with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.

Audience
Victorian government school staff and regional staff.
Delivery
Facilitator-led blended learning course undertaken over 6 weeks, which includes:
- self-paced online modules
- opportunities to collaborate with others in online discussions and reflect on your own learning
- two facilitated 1-hour sessions (face-to-face or virtually conferenced after school hours)
- learning activities to ensure learning is meaningful and applied.
Completion
Successful completion of this Inclusive Classrooms course provides eligibility to claim 15 hours professional learning contributing to relevant association registration requirements.
