Learn how to support students with complex communication needs to access, participate, learn and achieve as valued members of an inclusive school community.
Description
This facilitator-led blended learning course has been co-designed by the Department of Education and Cerebral Palsy Education Centre to develop a shared understanding of:
- students who have complex communication needs
- multimodal communication
- augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and aided language acquisition
- autonomous communication
- strategies and adjustments to enable active participation, learning and social connection at school
- partnerships that support collaboration, consultation and ongoing communication partner training.

Term 3 registrations have been paused. Registrations re-open 17 August - 11 September 2026.

Audience
Victorian government school staff and regional staff.
Completion
Successful completion of this Inclusive Classrooms course provides eligibility to claim 12 hours professional learning contributing to relevant association registration requirements.
Delivery
This facilitator-led blended learning courses is undertaken over 5 weeks, and includes:
- self-paced online modules
- collaborate with others in online discussions and reflect on your learning
- one facilitated 1-hour session (virtual conferenced after school hours)
